THE GENTLEWOMAN BY TRACEY WOODWARD
SYNOPSIS
So how did I become a successful business leader, mother, mentor, and media/industry figurehead? Well, there are many reasons, but the most important is the women who were not my mother. Women who, in both my personal and professional life, have protected, inspired, mentored, nurtured, fed, clothed, and loved me.
Meeting these great women who educated me about life changed my world. From being taught how to read and write at almost fifteen years old, I took all the lessons from an unconventional life and pushed forward in the real world. This book is dedicated to the women I know who create opportunities for other women every single day. They are the heroes of change, and without them, I am certain I would not be where I am today.
Through the threads of this story, you’ll find truth, excitement, compassion, heartbreak, loss, loneliness, defeat, and isolation - and what it really felt like for a woman to be an underdog in a sector that rendered females worthless. Because we cannot deny that crime is a business sector, and women are almost always collateral damage.
